Dear MTAC SFEV Members,

I hope that all is going well for all of you as we head in to the most event-packed portion of the year.

Contemporary Festival

Congratulations to the students and their teachers who participated in the  Contemporary Festival, which took place last Sunday afternoon at Valley College!  I attended all three recitals, and heard every single student, without exception, play well.  It was quite amazing to hear so many well-prepared, musical performances of adventurous music.   Chairperson, Nobuyo Nishizaka, and her able assistant, Mariko Urushidani, did a wonderful job running the event!!  Thank you both, and thanks to Rita Hovanesain and Arjang Rad for helping, as well.  Again, congratulations to all teachers who prepared students for this recital!!  Once again, our branch Contemporary Festival was an event of high quality.

General Recital

Our chairperson for this event, Anahit Sevoyan, has let me know that there will be one recital at 3PM at Keyboard Concepts.  Thank you, Anahit, for your work on this.

Benefit Concert

Paul Pitman and Dilara Khalilova have been organizing what should be a wonderful concert to raise funds for winners from our Scholarship Competition.  Please try to attend this event, and invite your students, families and friends.  Flyer attached.  Also, please let me know if you can help out with this event. We need teachers to sell tickets, pass out programs, bring food, organize food, etc.  Thank you so much in advance for contributing to this event whether as an assistant or simply by attending!

Classical/Romantic Festival

The Classical/Romantic Festival consists of 2-3 non-competitive recitals. Two judges will write comments for each performer. Please read Rules and Guidelines for this event on the website and remember that the deadline for registration is February 1st!!  Fill out the form for each entry, send a check for the number of students you have entering x $25 to chairperson, Kim O'Reilly.  Please also send the names of your students and the names of their compositions being performed via email, so that correctly-spelled names can be pasted directly onto the programs.
