MINUTES OF THE JUNE 24TH, 2013
MTAC SFEV  PLANNING AND INSTALLATION MEETING

10:20 Meeting commenced.  Our president, Dilara Khalilova, honored the memory of very recently passed, long-time member, Ed Grossman.  Many others spoke of their own fond memories of this amazing man.

10:25  Vice president, Mark Richman, motioned that we dedicate the next Classical and Romantic Festival to the memory of Ed Grossman (its founder); or we can find some other way of honoring him at the festival he created.  Motion was seconded; all in favor.

10:30  Position of Director (due to Ed’s passing) has to be filled.  Michael Paul volunteered to take Ed’s seat as Director.  There was discussion about having additional directors.  Anahit Sevoyan offered to become a director, and was officially nominated.

10:40  Roger Eshleman read list of nominees for our 2013-2014 board members.  Membership Secretary, Kim O’Reilly, motioned to accept the slate of nominees. Motion was seconded; all in favor.

10:43 Paul Pitman installed the following officers:

President Gillian Smith
1st Vice President Mark Richman
2nd VP and Membership Sec. Francine Ross-Pancost
Recording Sec. Aziza Syed
Correspondence Sec. Kim O’Reilly
Treasurer Laura Halladay
Directors

RitaHovanesian
Arjang Hedayati
Michael Paul
Anahit Sevoyan

10:50 Dilara informed us that Aziza Syed, our newest member, will be attending the MTAC Convention for the 1st time this year.  She will be our delegate at the President’s Breakfast.

10:56  Dilara explained that she will be taking over the responsibilities of our branch website.

10:57  Regarding the Fundraiser Concert, several issues have arisen.  We have to make sure not to leave too much of the burden of the execution of this event on the shoulders of either Paul Pitman or our new president, Gillian Smith.  To deal with this issue, we will nominate a fundraiser committee during the September meeting.

11:00  Our Treasurer, Laura Halladay, read the treasurer’s report.  Our branch is currently $1400 in the positive.   We made $1600 from CM despite the $3000 cost of using the LAVC facilities. Our smaller branch recitals are breaking even.  The Scholarship and Spring Festival lost some money ($270) but less than the previous year.  The Fundraiser Concert made $1300.
