Date: Nov 2 at 2:22 PM Good day Teachers!

A couple of reminders….

Certificate of Merit registration pay period is now open through November 10. Parents will receive a reminder from the MTAC State Office regarding payment details with step-by-step instructions. Parents also have until November 10 to sign the Participant Consent Waiver. It would be a good idea to send out reminders to your parents about these deadlines so they don’t miss out on the exam in March.

Lastly, here is an email about a performance tomorrow evening if anyone is available or in the area:
This is just a last minute reminder regarding the Young Musician Showcase which will take place this Saturday, November 3, at 7:00 PM at Field’s Piano, 810 E. Dyer Road, Santa Ana. This is the debut concert for Young Musicians Showcase, a MTAC State Sponsored event which highlights the many programs that MTAC has to offer. I would encourage you to attend yourself, but I would also encourage you to invite the newer teachers of your branch (and potential new members), so they can learn about our various programs. The talented musicians who will be performing represent winners from many of our State Programs (VOCE,  Composers Today, Piano Solo Competition, Friends of Today’s Music, Adult Performance, and Improvisation, and CM,  Panel/YAG). It should be a wonderful evening of music, of learning, and of getting to meet colleagues from all over Southern California.

Please go to our website to RSVP.  www.mtac.org/yms/  Seating is limited.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Best regards,
Debbie Siemer
Director, State Board.

Dear Teachers,

The annual Contemporary Festival is fast approaching and we finally had a member step up to chair the event!! Please help me in thanking Lacey Bowen, as well as Kim O’Reilly for assisting!

The festival will be held on Sunday, December 9 with Recitals ranging from 1-5pm at LA Valley College. This event is open to all ages and levels, however, there are 2 categories. Levels Prep-2 are non-competitive, but shall receive comments from the judges and Levels 3 and up are competitive. The fees for P-2 are $22 and for levels 3 and above are $27 per student/ensemble.

Please be aware that piano duets are accepted, however, there will only be the one piano on the stage unlocked. Therefore, any and all piano duets would have to be 4-hand entries.

Applications and payments should be sent directly to Kim O’Reilly, not to Lacey, so she can work on the programs. All repertoire and student information needs to be emailed to her as well. (kimor77@aol.com)

If you have any other questions about the event, first consult the rules/guidelines on the branch website at mtacsfev.org and you can of course email me directly. This performance is always spectacular for our branch and our 3 judges are all very excited to hear our extremely talented students!

Thank you all and happy performing!!
